The Munro family of Booroomooka Angus Stud celebrated 83 years of Stud breeding by selling a whopping 160 bulls at their annual on property sale on Friday 15th August 2008. Sinclair Munro commented "The sale offering had a wide range of quality bulls to sell - He described the sale as A Great Choice ! The Annual Sale includes the Very best of Our Bulls – many seedstock, commercial angus and cross breeders were able to pick from a large number of bulls to meet their needs”

Co Principal Hugh Munro added "The success of the sale was due to his family's long term commitment to breeding quality cattle and the dedication of the employees and Family members in the business"

The Munro family was very proud of the quality offering of the bulls - one repeat buyer who had not visited Booroomooka for the previous three years - said that the Quality of the cattle at Booroomooka continue to improve every time he returns. He stated "It was the best line up of Angus Bulls he has ever seen in Australia".

There was a good mix of return buyers and some new faces in the crowd. Bulls sold to widespread areas from King Island, Keith in South Australia, Geelong in Victoria, up to Clermont and Monto in Queensland. Many local buyers purchased quality bulls – Sinclair said “It is of prime importance that our customers continue to build quality and efficiencies in their herd”.

For the second year in a row, the top priced bull had been sired by a Booroomooka bred sire. Volume buyers included repeat buyers The Archer Family from Inverell who purchased 11 bulls, and first time buyers The Stoner family from Niangala buying 13 bulls. The Collins family returned to Booroomooka for the tenth year in succession and purchased seven bulls. Sinclair Munro says “The Collins family run one of the best Angus Commercial herds I have seen anywhere world wide. It is a credit to their management skills and genetic selection.”
