2006 Bull sale report
In a record offering of Herd Book Angus Bulls on Friday 18th August 2006, 190 Bulls sold for an average of $5342, a 100% clearance, Grossing just over $1 million dollars.
Co-Principal Sinclair Munro stated "Once Again The Annual Booroomooka Sale proved successful in selling High Quality Bulls at Value. With seedstock, commercial angus breeders and cross breeders buying quality bulls to add value to their herds".
141 registered bidders attended the sale, 10 Bulls sold for $10,000 or more, and 103 Bulls sold in the range of $2,000 to $5,000.
Buyers came from NSW, Qld, SA and King Island. The top priced bull Lot 78, Booroomooka Ultravox Z404 sold for $15,000 to astute Stud Operater Karen Arnott, Skagway Angus. Z404 is an impressive High Growth, easy fleshing, sound Ultravox son from a dams pedigree that includes Traveller 71 and Megaforce. EC Bateman purchased Lot 40, an excellent Bando 9074 son crossed with the famous Lucinda family for $13,000. An impressive ET flush of yearling bulls sired by Yellowstone and out of the famous Regallia cow (mother of the high marbling bull Undertaken) topped at $12,000 selling to Avalon Angus. Booroomooka Westall sons were very popular due to their sire appeal, length and muscle selling to a top of $11,000 to D & W Collins. Volume buyer was Wilmar Park who purchased 15 bulls.
The sale was professionally conducted by selling Agents Lehman and Frame, with guest auctioneer selling the 190 bulls in 3 hours.Summary
