Booroomooka Angus quality females gross $370,000

The quality and depth of breeding of Booroomooka Angus was well appreciated at the ‘Share the Herd' Female Sale held at Bingara on Friday 4th June 2004. 98 Herd book registered females sold to a top of $6,000, with a 86% clearance rate. The top priced cow was Lot 69 Booroomooka Quassia Q18, a large framed daughter of Megaforce, who has a fabulous breeding record being the grand dam of the top priced $20,000 bull Booroomooka Warwick W245. Quassia Q18 was purchased by Des and Carol Grylls, EJ Angus Stud, Pakenham, Vic in partnership with Daryl Griffin from Adalia Park Angus Stud, Bulla, Vic. ET donor cow Booroomooka Tracy T4 made $5,500 and purchased by Darren Hegarty from Meandarra, Qld. Another beautiful cow Booroomooka Takeda T66 sold to Witherswood Angus Stud for $5,000.


Volume purchaser for the day, who also received a semen package including Booroomooka Undertaken U170 was Bingara landowner Barry Rogers who purchased 33 females. Noble House Angus from Wallabadah purchased 8 females including the high marbling heifer Booroomooka Uncanny Y8. Other buyers of high quality females included Richard and Jan Baillie Wyagdon Angus, Bathurst, Austasia Animal Products from Eugowra and M Groth from Barraba. Twelve embryos sold to average $616, thirty two semen straws sold at an average of $117. 207 commercial females sold to a top of $900 for 13 2002 drop angus heifers ptic purchased by Barry Rodgers, Delungra through H Roy Miller. The average of stud females sold was $2206.
